Job Description

A national law firm is seeking a litigation associate (3-7 years) to join its Washington, DC office as part of a growing practice focused on insurance recovery and coverage work on behalf of policyholders. This is an excellent opportunity for an associate looking to build a sophisticated litigation practice in a collaborative environment with clear advancement potential and a defined path to partnership.

Candidates should have strong experience handling core litigation responsibilities, including drafting substantive motions and pleadings, conducting legal research, and participating in discovery. Experience taking and defending depositions, managing document discovery, and handling motion practice is important. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to manage competing deadlines, works well in a team setting, and is comfortable taking ownership of key components of a matter. Admission to the DC Bar (or ability to obtain admission) is required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Anticipated salary range: $190,000 - $250,000, depending on experience and overall qualifications
  • Eligibility for annual performance-based bonuses

Billable Expectation

  • Annual target of 1,850 hours, inclusive of up to 100 hours of approved pro bono work
